Niles West High School is home of the Wolves with more than 2,600 students. A public, comprehensive high school outside of Chicago, Niles West opened in 1958. The school is part of Niles Township High School District 219, recognized as a top district in the United States and in Illinois.

Niles West received Silver distinction from the College Board’s 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll for AP programs that deliver results for students while broadening access.

Niles West ranked as a top public high school in Chicago Magazine in 2024. The school placed 15th among suburban high schools in Cook County.

Niles West sender schools are Lincoln Junior High School, Fairview South School, Lincoln Hall Middle School, Culver Middle School, and Park View School.
