College Fairs
D219 hosts an annual college fair in March so students can learn about many colleges and universities in one place. Representatives from approximately 175 colleges and universities are available to answer questions and provide information.
Things to do before the college fair
To get the most out of your college fair experience, students and families should prepare:
- Review the tentative list of colleges that will be represented and the descriptions they provided.
- Create a list of “must-see” colleges. Look beyond the familiar and find other institutions that meet your needs. Do not eliminate schools because you are not familiar with them.
- Review the comparison charts at the end of the College Fair packet and modify them to meet your particular needs.
- Review requirements for state school admissions.
- Bring the College Fair packet with you to the event. The materials will not be available after the College Fair event. Only an updated list of participating colleges and their location at the event will be available at the door that night.
- Pre-register for the fair at strivefair.com. Fill out the information, and bring your bar code to the college fair. After the fair, you will receive a list of the colleges you spoke to and their contact information.
