Visitor Access and Parking
Check-in Procedures
All visitors to Niles North during the school day must report to the front security desk at the main entrance and be identified by showing a government issued picture ID card. A driver’s license or state ID card is preferred. Visitors are encouraged to make an appointment in advance with the staff member they wish to see. Visitors will be escorted to their appointment.
If the visitor does not have an appointment, security will make a courtesy call to the staff member. A teacher in class will not be disturbed. If the staff member does not answer the call, then the visitor may be turned away and asked to make an appointment and return at a later date.
Students are not allowed visitors. A parent picking up a student must get authorization from the Dean’s office or Health Center.
Parking
Niles North Security patrols the parking lots in a continuing effort to create a safe campus. Security is also charged with the responsibility of warning and ticketing parking violators on campus property.
The lots are restricted to students and staff with valid parking stickers, as well as registered visitors, on school days from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm. The restrictions are lifted after 3:30 pm on school days. There are no parking restrictions on weekends and non-school days.
The Niles North campus has two parking lots. They are:
- The North Lot is a general lot which, during the school day, contains all student parking, some staff parking and visitor parking. Outside of the school day, music and fine arts students, as well as spectators to theatre and concert events will generally park in the North Lot. It is requested that access to this lot be done by utilizing the drive located north of the building, at approximately 9900 Lawler Avenue.
- The West Lot is reserved for staff parking only on a school day. Outside of the school day, student athletes and spectators to athletic events will generally park in the West Lot and enter the athletic fields or, through Door 12 for indoor events.
During the school day, visitors are required to park in the North Lot and register their vehicle as part of the visitor check-in procedure. 10 spaces are reserved for visitors and are located on the southeast corner of the lot, closest to the main entrance. If the visitor spaces are full, then visitors are permitted to park in any valid space in the North Lot. Visitors must register their vehicle whether parked in a visitor space or a regular space.
