Science

The District 219 Science Department's vision is to develop and nurture a community of engaged, empathetic citizens who can use the principles of science to creatively and critically analyze everyday problems, providing potential solutions that will best serve all.

This vision stems from our values and beliefs as science educators and what we believe all students should be able to do once they graduate high school.

  1. Knowing, using, and interpreting scientific explanations of the natural world.
  2. Generating and evaluating scientific evidence and explanations.
  3. Understanding the nature and development of scientific knowledge.
  4. Participating productively in scientific practices and discourse.
